Ⅲ. General Aims of This Lesson
1. Four General Objectives of the Curriculum
① Students can listen to the tape and understand the topic.
② Students can explain something using new expressions.
③ Students can read a story and understand the main idea.
④ Students can write the answers to the factual questions.
2. Language Skills
(1) Listening : Students will be able to understand the goal of speaker's requests
after listening to conversations on general topics.
(Advanced) Students will be able to respond naturally about requesting, acceptance .
(2) Speaking: Students will be able to lead conversations on general topics without hesitation.
(3) Reading: Students will be able to understand the difference between different people from different culture.
(4) Writing: Students will be able to write a short, simple paragraph on general topics.
3. Communicative Activities.
(1) Communicative Functions
a. Expressing one's request : Do you mind if I pay with this change?
b. Inquiring possibilities : Could you give me any tips?
c. Giving advice: You'd better not go there.
(2) Language Structure
a. Present Participle tense: I have not lost any weight since last month.
b. Superlative Sentence: There's nothing I like more than running.
